As part of a game design class, I dealt with game development and coding in HTML5 and JavaScript. My work resulted in a 2D jump 'n' run game using two-dimensional illustrations for the background and player object. I wanted to make the game visually appealing, but I also wanted to have a logical story and thus I chose to go with a story about a ninja warrior. While making an escape attempt, the ninja warrior runs through an old abandoned village where he needs to jump over fire and knock down other ninja enemies. The farther he gets, the faster he becomes by adding speed to his running pace, making it increasingly harder for the player to jump and fight.

All motions in the game are based on sprite sheet animations. I added a "start" and "game over" screen with clickable elements to frame the whole project. In addition, the game's simplicity allowed me to go into further detail with the visual appearance.
