During my 4th semester at university (Bachelor's degree), I worked on a project for a new media class that deals with the psychological phenomenon of dissociative identity disorder. It immediately caught my interest and I started to study and research the topic.
Based on the knowledge I gained from my research, I created a story about a man whose identity is split into multiple pieces after having experienced the brutality and inhumanity of a satanic cult when he was a child. Never being able to fully recover from these horrifying memories, he lives a depressing and fearful life.

As the story progresses, the worst identity fragment inside of him gets triggered and he suffers a disastrous meltdown causing him to accidentally kill his wife and his 6-year old daughter. After changing back into his usual identity fragment, he cannot remember anything regarding this brutal act. As a result, he begins to help the police in finding the person responsible.
To partially illustrate the story, I created a short trailer video using a 3D environment and 3D models with a special shade renderer to generate a look similar to cartoons.

Since I put a lot of effort and thought into the whole idea of creatively dealing with dissociative identity disorder, I decided to develop a second project for a photography class. This time, the story revolves around a young girl who has four personalities with each one having a completely different story and background. The first personality deals with the troubles of being an ambitious and committed high school student who at times can be an outsider, causing a very shy and cautious appearance. The second personality represents my personal interpretation of an omniscient and spiritual oracle in human form. The third personality fragment lives a mentally ill life in which she perceives abnormal associations with violence and death. Finally, the fourth personality embodies the ancient character, Persephone, daughter of Zeus and goddess of the underworld, along with the abduction myth in Greek mythology.
The photographic artwork has been part of the myth exhibition at the museum, "Natur und Mensch", located in Freiburg.
