During a project week at my Bachelor's university I participated in a 3D printing workshop. Before we could start printing, we were introduced to the topic of additive manufacturing and familiarized ourselves with the process of synthesizing a three-dimensional object. Afterwards, we began creating digital 3D sculptures that were simple and easy to print. What was most interesting was the process of learning how to best design shapes for the machine and for the layers of filament and getting to know the technical standards.

Another machine that I could work on was a laser engraver. I experimented with different materials and fabrics and completed a small research study, where I examined how parameters like speed and strength of the laser need to interact with each other to create a perfectly engraved result.
